Around the Blogosphere

Welcome again to another edition of Around the Blogosphere. I am sorry this is a few days late, but I hope you are still blessed by these articles/sermons from the world wide web.

1). It appears that the world council of churches is looking to become more ecumenical (if that is possible), according to a post over at Crosstalk blog. In the post it states, "The Christian Post reports that the apostate World Council of Churches is seeking “broader ecumenical engagement.” You can read the rest of the article here.

2.) Over at Pyromaniacs, Dan Phillips has an interresting article titled, "All Religions really do lead to God." In the article Phillips says, "The only way to God as Father is through the Lord Jesus Christ. Born again by the sovereign grace of God (John 1:12-13), adopted as sons of God through Christ (Ephesians 1:7), blessed with the spirit of adoption whereby we can cry out "Abba! Father" (Romans 8:15), which is the Spirit of God's own Son sent into our hearts (Galatians 4:6)." You should go and read the whole article here.

3.)" Do Hurricanes Just Happen?", is the title of the most recent article at the CCWblog. In the article Jim Elliff writes, "But can we really say God did it? Most do not want to. Yet, occasionally, even among those who assume God exercises no true sovereignty over the wills of men, there is the admission that God does control the weather. He does, that is, as long as nobody is seriously hurt. God might comfort during the storm and help pick up the emotional pieces after the storm, but He would never create such ruination." You can see the whole article here.

4.) An alarming trend in the visible "church" today is their tolerance of sin. Ken Silva at Apprising Ministries hits one of these sins head on. In the article titled, "Protestant Churches Shifting Towards Affirming Homosexuality", Silva comments, "
The genuine Church of Jesus Christ is a theocracy ruled by God; a people of God (see—1 Peter 2:10), a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession in order that we might proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us—now watch carefully what God tells us about the world i.e. unregenerate human culture—out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9, NASB). Did you catch that; the Person of God the Holy Spirit has clearly told us through His inspired Apostle Peter that the world, concerning issues like homosexuality, is in utter darkness." You can read the whole article here.

5.) Grace to You has a small but insightful article by John MacArthur titled, "Will there be sin or sorrow in Heaven?" In the article MacArthur proclaims, "Heaven will be so dramatically different from the present world that to describe it requires the use of negatives, as well as positives. To describe what is totally beyond human understanding also requires pointing out how it differs from present experience." You can read the rest of the article here.

As things continue to deteriorate around us, may our eyes of discernment be sharpened by his two-edged sword!

Heb 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Bro. Pat
